REPRESENTATIVES from the six competing teams, and representing six counties, gathered at Croke Park ahead of the 2025 Lidl All-Ireland Junior Post Primary Schools Finals.

Schools from Cavan, Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Tyrone and Westmeath will go in search of the silverware on offer in the Junior Finals, scheduled for Wednesday, March 19 and Thursday, March 20.

The provinces of Leinster, Munster and Ulster are represented in the Junior decider, with three Munster schools, two Ulster and one Leinster all in the hunt for glory.

The Final action gets underway on Wednesday, March 19, with the Junior C Final between Bailieborough Community School from Cavan, and Limerick’s Scoil Mhuire agus Íde, a tie fixed for Duggan Park in Ballinasloe (2.00pm).

Scoil Mhuire agus Íde got the better of Mayo opponents Ballyhaunis Community School in their semi-final, as Bailieborough Community School defeated Loreto College, Swords, representing Dublin.

In the Junior B Final, to be played on Thursday March 20, St Mary’s Secondary School, Macroom (Cork) will pit their wits against Tyrone opponents St Patrick’s Academy, Dungannon.

That game has been fixed for the Manguard Plus Kildare GAA Centre of Excellence, with a 2pm start.

St Mary’s, who got the better of Mercy College, Roscommon, at the semi-final stage, were C runners-up last year, and are back in another All-Ireland Final.

They’ll face strong opposition from St Patrick’s Academy, who were impressive semi-final winners against Dublin opponents Loreto Balbriggan.

Victory for St Patrick’s Academy would keep the Junior B title in Ulster, following victory for St Ronan’s College, Armagh, last year.

In the Junior A grade, there will be new winners this year, following three-in-a-row successes for Loreto, Cavan from 2022-2024.

The 2025 Final will be contested by Moate Community School (Westmeath) and Tipperary’s Ursuline Secondary School, from Thurles, and that game will be played at Glenisk O’Connor Park, Tullamore (1.00pm).

Moate CS secured a semi-final win against Antrim opponents Our Lady’s and St Patrick’s College, Knock, as Ursuline SS were victorious in their last four clash with High Cross College, Tuam, who were representing Galway.

Present at Croke Park were Lidl All-Ireland Junior Post-Primary Schools Finals captains, namely Áine Bracken (Moate CS), Alice Butler (Ursuline, Thurles), Cara O’Brien (St Mary’s SS, Macroom), Cara McMoran (St Patrick’s Academy), Caoimhe Brady (Bailieborough CS) and Isabelle O’Brien (Scoil Mhuire agus Íde).

Meanwhile, the 2025 Lidl All-Ireland Senior Post-Primary Schools Finalists will be confirmed this week.

The Senior A semi-finals will be played on Wednesday, March 13), followed by Thursday’s B semi-finals, and the C semi-finals on Friday.

Junior C finalists Bailieborough Community School are also in the running for Senior C honours.
