PORTADOWN College are through to another Schools Cup final… this time the Danske Bank Girls’ U16 Schools Cup.
They defeated Belfast Girls Model 3-2 at Bluebell Stadium in Lisburn with some players taking to the field for Portadown College just 10 hours after winning the Schools Cup Hockey final.
By half-time, Portadown College were 2-0 up and then shortly into the second half, Heidi Baird scored a third goal for the team in blue.
Heidi, interestingly, is the sister of young Glenavon star Isaac Baird.
After that, Girls’ Model rallied and made use of the wind to score twice and kept the game a real contest.
It finished 3-2 with Portadown College now progressing to the final in April, to be held in Windsor Park, where they will face the winners of the other semi final, Parkhall.
