Picture special… Wallace, Assumption, Our Lady’s, Newry and Hunterhouse emerge victorious in Netball Northern Ireland Schools’ National League Finals

Senior Division 1 winners, Wallace High, Lisburn

EIGHTEEN schools contested the Netball Northern Ireland Schools’ National League Finals at South Lake Leisure Centre, Craigavon, with Wallace High, Lisburn, Assumption, Ballynahinch, Our Lady’s Grammar, Newry and Hunterhouse, Belfast emerging as winners.

The finals brought together the top performing schools from across the regional districts following a competitive league season and knockout stages.

Teams first qualified for the National League quarter final stage as district league winners, before progressing through quarter final and semi final fixtures to earn their place on Finals Day.

Intermediate Division 1

Methodist College Belfast – Belfast District
Ballymena Academy – North East District

Intermediate Division 2
Our Lady’s Grammar Newry – Southern District

These teams then competed across quarter final and semi final fixtures to secure their place in the National League Finals.

Table officials for the event were Betty Wilson, Andi Magee and Leeann McWilliams, supporting the smooth running of the matches throughout the day.

Netball Northern Ireland would like to extend thanks to South Lake Leisure Centre for hosting the event, along with the supporters who travelled to support all the finalists, the umpires, and the table officials who ensured the event ran successfully.

A special acknowledgement goes to every school and coaching staff member who have committed significant time and effort throughout the season.

Secondary school netball continues to grow and develop across Northern Ireland, and it is fantastic to see so many schools and girls involved in the sport.
