St Oliver Plunkett v Greenisland (Friday, June 28)

GOALS galore and four hat-tricks, including two in one game, were the highlights of drama-filled NIWFA Local Women Sport Super Cup 3rd round with three ties decided in extra time.

Sion Swifts’ Rachel Barnaby and substitute Caoimhne Heron each hit hat-tricks to see off Ballymena United Women 6-5. Caoimhne’s third goal in extra time proved to be the winner. 

A Rachel McSparron hat-trick wasn’t enough for Strabane Athletic as Comber Rec also needed an extra 30 minutes to overcome their visitors, substitute Dempsey McCormick hitting the Comber winner.

The third tie going into overtime saw Division 1 side Ballymoney United Ladies overcome Championship opponents Camlough Rovers 5-3.

Anneli Moore scored a 47th-minute winner for Ballyclare Comrades in their 3-2 win over Craigavon City for whom Deborah McCarthy netted a double .

Bangor sailed to a 5-1 win over Championship rivals St James Swifts while Civil Service reached the quarter finals with a giant-killing act. The new Development League side racked up a 7-0 win over Championship strugglers Foyle Belles with Aimee Stewart claiming the fourth hat-trick of the night.

Niamh Adams and Sara-Louise McLaughlin scored two apiece Belfast Celtic progressed to the last eight, winning 5-1 at Valley Rangers.
