US-based Cockram raced to victory over last year’s winner Anne Marie McGlynn in the women’s event in the Moy Park Belfast Half Marathon that attracted an entry of 6,000 runners.
Cockram set a fast pace from early on to finish in 72 minutes and 47 seconds, over a minute ahead of Letterkenny’s McGlynn who was also well ahead of third placed Monica Silva of Portugal in 74.59. Ivana Anderson was fifth with 79.29 followed by Sarah McNutt on 80.49.
Jayne Bleakley (below) won the wheelchair race in 1:15:38 from Karol Doherty in 1:25:08.
