New mum Dearbhla Cox of Annadale Striders wins women’s race and Jayne Bleakley is first in wheelchair race in the 2025 Belfast City Half Marathon

ANNADALE Striders’ Dearbhla Cox, who gave birth at 35 just recently, was the first woman home in the 2025 Belfast City Half Marathon, starting and finishing at Ormeau Park.

Derabhla finished 57th overall in a time of one hour 18 minutes and 18 seconds.

Judith Storm from City of Derry Spartans took second place in 01:18:33 and, in third place, Gladys Ganiel of North Belfast Harriers finished in a time of 01:19:38.

Women’s Race top 3

1st – Dearbhla Cox (Annadale Striders)

2nd – Judith Storm (City of Derry Spartans)

3rd – Gladys Ganiel (North Belfast Harriers)

Derry’s Jayne Bleakley (below), who earlier this year became the first female wheelchair participant to take part in the Belfast Marathon, won the half marathon wheelchair race in a time of 01:12:50.
