NORTHERN Ireland need just one point from their game today against Bosnia and Herzegovina to ensure second spot in the Group B3.
As it stands, NI should become one of the six seeds if they win this tie and Hungary fail to beat Turkey in group B1.
Northern Ireland secured a play-off spot on Friday night by beating Malta 2-0.
“We were buzzing to get the three points, it was a tough game against tough opposition and the weather conditions made it even tougher,” Brenna McPartlan stated looking back at the game in Malta.
“But to get back home with the three points has put us in a great position.
“It’s great to know we’ll be making the play-offs but the job’s not done. We’ve got another opportunity to get three points and hopefully put us in a better position, and that’s what we’re looking forward to now.
“We ground it out in the first half on Friday and grew in confidence in the second half and we were much better and controlled the game. The most pleasing thing was how we grew during the game.
“Of course it is going to be tough against Bosnia-Herzegovina; we played them a few months ago, so we know what it will take to win, which we managed out there.
“We are excited to be at home at Windsor on a good pitch and with our own fans, I’m sure we can put on a good performance.
“It will be great seeing my family in the crowd [from Ballymena] coming to watch, I’m really excited for that.
“I’ve loved being a part of it. This is my third camp now and I’m learning a lot from the other girls.
“International football is completely different to club football but I’m really enjoying it.
“The intensity and competitiveness is another level and I feel like I’m finding my feet and improving in that sense.”
