NETBALL Northern Ireland is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Rotherham as a Director to its Board, bringing with her a wealth of strategic, operational and governance expertise from high‑performance sporting and professional environments.
Emma is a strategically driven, people‑focused leader with a strong track record of leading multidisciplinary teams in complex, high‑stakes settings. Her career includes a key operational role supporting the delivery of Formula One races worldwide, where she worked at the intersection of sport, technical operations and human performance to deliver excellence under pressure.
With extensive experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and governance, Emma brings a people‑first leadership style grounded in trust, equality and continuous improvement — closely aligned with Netball Northern Ireland’s commitment to professionalism, integrity and sustainable growth.

Emma’s involvement in netball spans from school league participation, to founding and captaining workplace teams in London, as well as serving on the Peninsula Netball Club committee. This lifelong connection reflects not only her understanding of club opportunities and challenges but her commitment to inclusion, participation and the positive role sport plays within communities.
Speaking on her appointment, Emma said:
