JUNIOR CUP RUNNERS UP, Wallace High School

NETBALL Northern Ireland hosted a fantastic day of Minor and Junior Schools Cup Finals at South Lake Leisure Centre, Craigavon, bringing together schools from across the country to compete for silverware in a series of highly competitive finals.

Across the day, spectators were treated to exciting and closely contested matches, showcasing the depth of talent, teamwork and skill within schools netball across Northern Ireland.

Minor Results

The day began with the Minor Shield Final, where St Dominic’s C secured a narrow 14–12 victory over Sullivan in a closely fought contest, umpired by Betty Wilson and Andi Magee.

In the Minor Cup Final, St Dominic’s A delivered a strong performance to claim the title with a 21–13 win over Lumen Christi, umpired by Wannita Broom and Andi Magee.

The Minor Plate Final provided one of the closest games of the day, with Our Lady’s Newry edging Sacred Heart Newry 13–12 in a thrilling finish. The match was umpired by Leeann McWilliams and Laura Lovett.

Junior Results

The Junior Shield Final saw Antrim Grammar secure a 20–19 victory over Lagan College in a game that went down to the final whistle, umpired by Laura Lovett and Leeann McWilliams.

In the Junior Plate Final, Mount Lourdes produced a strong performance to take the title with a 30–11 win over Lumen Christi, umpired by Leeann McWilliams and Wannita Broom.

The day concluded with a thrilling Junior Cup Final, where Our Lady and St Patrick’s College, Knock edged Wallace High School 13–12 in a closely contested match. The final was umpired by Betty Wilson and Wannita Broom.

Netball Northern Ireland would like to thank all umpires for their professionalism and commitment throughout the day, ensuring a high standard of officiating across all matches.

A sincere thank you is also extended to all players, coaches, schools, volunteers and supporters who contributed to a successful and enjoyable Finals Day. The atmosphere at South Lake Leisure Centre reflected the passion and continued growth of schools netball across Northern Ireland.
