Lifetime Achievement honour for Glentoran’s Kelly Bailie at Local Women Sport Awards… all the winners from glittering night of the stars at Europa Hotel with picture galleries to follow

Kelly receives her award from Lady Mary Peters with Carolynne Murray of sponsors Shandon Hotel

LOCAL female sporting heroes have been honoured earlier this evening at The Europa Hotel, at the Local Women in Sport Awards, organised by Local Women in Sport online magazine.  These annual dedicated women in sports gala awards celebrate women in sport across the whole of Ireland and the UK. Hosted by UTV’s Ruth Gorman and sponsored by The Shandon Hotel and Resort, the star-studded event celebrated women in sport and everyone who helps women in sport thrive – the coaches, volunteers, sponsors and allies who make it all possible.

Lady Mary Peters presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Kelly Bailie, whose

extraordinary Glentoran career is defined by loyalty, longevity and excellence.  Over 29 seasons in red, green and black, she has become one of the most decorated and respected figures in Northern Irish football.  Initially a forward, Bailie’s intelligence and reading of the game saw her transition into a commanding defender whose leadership has anchored Glentoran Women’s remarkable era of success.
