Giant killers Valley Rangers land Sion Swifts in quarter-final draw for our NIWFA Local Women Sport Super Cup

KILKEEL shock troops Valley Rangers’ reward for their giant killing act on Camlough in the last round is a home tie against another Championship side, Sion Swifts, in the quarter finals of the NIWFA’s Local Women Sport Super Cup.

In the third round, Division Four Valley Rangers recorded a sensational 16-3 victory over Camlough, from the Championship.

Holders Ballymoney United will travel to play Mid Ulster Ladies, from the Championship, who overcame Coleraine 4-0.

Ballymoney defeated Ballyclare Comrades 2-0.

Ballymena United, from the Championship, defeated Maiden City, from Division Two, 4-0 and will face St James Swifts.

St James Swifts beat Bangor FC Ladies on penalties, 7-6 after a 2-2 finish while the match of the round between Carrick Rangers Falcons and Lisbellaw, first and second in Division Two, also went to penalties after it ended 2-2, Carrick winning 4-3.

Greenisland and Sion Swifts were awarded byes after Strabane and Newhill both forfeited their matches.

Carrick will be at home to Greenisland in the quarter-final games to be played on Monday, August 4.
