THE 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Championships continue this weekend with the four intermediate quarter-finals down for decision while the semi-final pairings for the junior title race will also be decided.

Seventeen counties have won the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship in the 23 years in which it has been staged but if a new winner is to emerge this year and capture the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup then either Wexford, Fermanagh or Monaghan will need to emerge from this weekend’s quarter-finals and go all the way.

Laois and Westmeath, each of whom have captured this title twice, will bid for glory along with Tyrone (winners in 2018), Cavan (2013) and Clare (2009), who will hope to add to their single success.

Over the course of the weekend two other former winners Down and Roscommon, along with Offaly and Wicklow, will look to stay alive in the intermediate grade, with two relegation qualifiers down for decision.

And the final round of group fixtures in the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship will confirm the semi-final pairings, with the last four ties scheduled for Sunday July 13.

Sunday’s live game on the LGFA Facebook Page and YouTube channel is the all-Ulster TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter-final between Tyrone and Fermanagh.

TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter-final

Laois v Wexford, Laois Hire O’Moore Park, 2pm

Laois, champions in 2022, cruised through to the last eight with victories over Roscommon and Fermanagh, scoring five goals along the way.

Now, they’ll pit their wits against Wexford in a Leinster derby.

Wexford, the only county to have lost four TG4 All-Ireland intermediate finals, finished second in Group 4 behind Clare and will need a big display to topple the hosts here as they aim for their first crown.

The winners of this one will advance to the last four, where Clare or Monaghan await.

Laois: E Barry; S Farrelly, F McEvoy, C Dunne; A Gorman, A Moore, A Moran; F Dooley, J Moore; S Havill, C Burke, C Crowley; E Lacey, E Lawlor, M Nerney.

Wexford: S Cloake; K English, S McCarthy, K Dempsey; C Banville, A Halligan, M Byrne; C Donnelly, R Murphy; A Cullen, C Murray, O Byrne; A Neville, T Doyle, C Foxe.

Tyrone v Fermanagh, Kildress, 2pm

These sides met in the preliminary round of the TG4 Ulster Championship in April.

And it was a thrilling game that saw Tyrone run out three-point winners on a 4-11 to 3-11 scoreline.

Fast forward to now and both teams remain in good form, with All-Ireland quarter-final slots secured.

Tyrone, last year’s All-Ireland finalists, were brilliant against Westmeath last time out, racking up 6-11, as Fermanagh came through their must-win clash with Roscommon, registering 3-9 in the process.

The winners of this one will progress to a semi-final with Cavan or Westmeath.

Tyrone: A Coyle; J Lyons, G McKenna, E Quinn; S McCarroll, M Moore, C Canavan; A McHugh, M Mallon; E McNamee, S Gormley, A Horisk; N O’Neill, C McCrossan, C Colton.

Fermanagh: A Haren; S McQuade, C Clarke, E Keenan; A O’Brien, C Murphy, F Maguire; S Feeley, M McGloin; A McCarney, C Martin, L Maguire; J Doonan, E Smyth, N McManus.

Clare v Monaghan, Kilmurry Ibrickane, 2pm

Clare, winners in 2009 but three-time runners-up in this competition, have been going quietly about their business to date.

The Banner County came through their group campaign on top of the pile with good victories over Offaly and Wexford.

But now they face another tough assignment against Monaghan, who got through to the last eight despite losing against Wicklow in their second group game.

Scoring difference was good enough for the Farney County to advance in second place behind neighbours Cavan who they pipped by 2-11 to 1-13 in the opening round.

A semi-final against Laois or Wexford is the reward for the winners here.

Clare: A Lenihan; E Burke, G Harvey, R Doohan; S Melican, J Doohan, R Considine; T Collins, R Martin; M Downes, C Moloney, L Conway; E McNamara, E Hanrahan, C Harvey.

Monaghan: O Kelly; C Brennan, S Brady, A Clarke; A Garland, A Burns, A Loughman; C Treanor, N Flanagan; S Corley, R Courtney, L Garland; E Sherry, J Duffy, L Connolly.

Cavan v Westmeath, Kingspan Breffni Park, 2pm

Cavan lost out to Monaghan in the group stages but still ended up topping the group, as Monaghan were stunned by Wicklow by 1-11 to 1-10.

The reward for Cavan for their big 1-20 to 0-4 victory over Wicklow is a home quarter-final against Westmeath, who are smarting from a heavy loss to Tyrone last time out when they went down by 6-11 to 0-7.

Westmeath will certainly need to improve on that display but Cavan know that they can get better too – and this could be a really good game.

Tyrone or Fermanagh await the winners of this one in the semi-finals.

Cavan: E Baugh; L Crowe, S Kelly, E Corcoran; M Sheridan, S Lynch, S Greene; M Fitzpatrick, N Tolan; E Brady, LJ Grant, C Dolan; C Charters, A Sheridan, A Gilsenan.

Westmeath: A Temple; Lara McCartan, S Murphy, F Coyle; C Gonoud, L Power, S Buckley; V Carr, A Roche; Lucy McCartan, S Dillon, T Dillon; G Byrne, A Jones, C Kilmurray.

TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship Relegation qualifier

Roscommon v Wicklow, Crettyard GAA Club, 2pm

After finishing bottom of their respective groups in the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship round-robin series, Roscommon and Wicklow are now sucked into a relegation scrap.

The winners of this one will stay up, while the losers will have a second chance against Down or Offaly.

Roscommon: H Cummins; M Kelly, S Wynne, R Lennon; N Feeney, E Irwin, M McKeon; R Cox, A Curran; E Thompson, N Watson, S McGuinness; A Hanley, R Lennon, C Lennon.

Wicklow: E Griffin; S Evans, SJ Winders, M Corr; I Ledesma, S Goetelen, L Dunne; A Keegan, A Gorman; N Cullen, S Byrne, E O’Keane; A Harmon, S McGettigan, H Dowling.

TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship

Group A: Louth v Sligo, Páirc Na nGael, 1pm

Both of these sides go into this table-topper on the back of good wins last weekend as they maintained their perfect start to the campaign.

Sligo lead the group on points difference after seeing off Limerick by 2-13 to 1-4.

Louth scored a 2-19 to 0-4 win away to Derry as they too made it three wins on the spin.

Both sides are guaranteed semi-final spots but both will be anxious to maintain their 100% records.

Louth: R Lambe Fagan; R Beirth, E Hand, E Murray; S Matthews, S McLaughlin, L Byrne; A. Breen, A Halligan; L White, E Byrne, A Russell; L Collins, K Flood, C Nolan.

Sligo: E McGuire; A Molloy, H Walsh, J Creegan; R Kennedy, T Doddy, T Breheny; S Regan, C Walsh; M McCormack, E Kelleher, S Feeney; L Duffy, C Gilligan, A McDaniel.

Group A: Kilkenny v Derry, John Locke Park, 2pm

Both are still looking for their first win and go into this final round of games on the back of heavy defeats.

Kilkenny went down by 4-20 to 1-1 against Louth, while Derry shipped a 2-19 to 0-4 loss to Louth.

Kilkenny: K Fitzpatrick; L Brett, E Stewart, A Audoire; S Mooney, Riona Crowley, J O’Keeffe; Ruth Crowley, A Ryan; R Phelan, K Purcell, L Gilmore; C Moore, C Mooney, E Phelan.

Derry: T Cassidy; C Dillon, G Brewster, J Corr; A Donnelly, S Hargan, B Donnelly; L Brewster, A Crozier; N Hannon, A Ni Lochlainn, K Hargan; A McAlister, C Donnelly, M Boylan.

Group B: Carlow v Antrim, Netwatch Cullen Park, 2pm

Antrim top the group on a +40 scoring difference better than Longford after their 3-18 to 0-0 win over London last time out as they made it two wins from two.

Carlow went down to Longford by four points after their big opening round win over London and go into this one three points adrift of Longford but with a superior points difference so all Carlow need to do is secure victory. Easier said than done against an Antrim side who opened their campaign with a 4-15 to 0-5 win over Longford.

Carlow: N Hanley; S McCullagh, A Carroll, K Tunstead; T Lyons, B Nolan, R Bermingham; R Bailey, E Ware; B Nolan, E Hayden, E Molloy; A Webb, C Ní Shé, K Burke.

Antrim: A Devlin; N McIntosh, M Blaney, M Mulholland; S O’Neill, C Brown, C McKenna; A Mulholland, A Turbidy; T Mellon, M O’Neill, A Kelly; B Devlin, O Dahunsi, L Agnew.
