DEMI Vance scored twice as Glentoran Women comprehensively defeated rivals Linfield Women 6-2 away to go top of the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership, three points ahead of Crusaders Strikers with a game less played.
Demi made the win comfortable with her two goals in the 58th and 71st minutes at Midgely Park.
The Glens made a fast start and were 3-0 up inside half an hour.
Nadene Caldwell opened the scoring with a header from a Demi Vance corner, before a second arrived when Hannah Doherty turned a dangerous cross into her own net.
Kascie Weir added a third.Linfield responded well and when Cora Chambers pulled one back before the break.
Early in the second half, Eve Reilly’s finish reduced the deficit to 3-2.
But Glentoran reasserted control. Vance made it 4-2 with a well-struck free kick before scoring directly from a corner to restore a three-goal cushion.
Mia Moore rounded off the scoring with a close-range finish to seal the win.
