PEGASUS and Ulster Elks are through to the quarter-finals of the Women’s AIG Irish Senior Cup after Ulster derby wins over Queen’s University and Ards… but there was disappointment for Portadown whose excellent recent run was brought to an end by Corinthians on penalties after a draw.
UCD also held their nerve to beat UCC in a penalty shootout.
Pembroke, Ulster Elks and Catholic Institute all progressed thanks to close 1-0 wins over Monkstown, Ards, and Belfast Harlequins, respectively. Pegasus reached the last eight thanks to a win over fellow ulster side Queen’s University Belfast.
Sophie McDowell and Lucy McKee were on target for Pegs and Ellie Edwards for Queen’s.
And Loreto showed their quality with a confident win over visiting Cork Harlequins.
