Sports Direct Women’s Premiership round-up… Cora Chambers hat-trick for Linfield, win for Lisburn Ladies, Derry and Crusaders draw

THERE was no shortage of late goals in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership as Linfield Women and Lisburn Ladies picked up three points apiece while Derry City Women and Crusaders Strikers ended in a dramatic stalemate. 

Cora Chambers fired Linfield to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Lisburn Rangers with a first-half hat-trick as the Blues maintained their impressive form to move to the top of the table, bringing her own tally for the season to 11 goals. 

There was late drama at Mill Meadow where Derry City and Strikers shared the spoils in a thrilling 3-3 draw. 

Caoirse Doherty, Leah Craig and Caitlin Doherty were on target for the Candystripes, but Crusaders responded through Michelle McDaid, Alison Nelson and a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser from Darcie McNeill. 

Lisburn Ladies claimed a hard-fought 2-1 win away to Larne Women. 

Claire Shaw’s first-half opener was added to by a late Cerys Sharkey own goal before Hollie Johnston pulled one back deep into stoppage time, but the visitors held on to take all three points.
