TICKETS are now on sale for this year’s Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup final.
Cliftonville Ladies face Lisburn Rangers Ladies at the National Football Stadium at Windsor Park (7.00pm kick-off) on Saturday, October 19.
It’s set to be an intriguing contest between the current NIFL Women’s Premiership leaders and the new kids on the block in the league.
Cliftonville are currently top of the table with a 100 per cent record so far, with 13 wins out of 13 games, but Lisburn Rangers Ladies have performed well after being promoted to the top flight this season. They currently sit fourth in the league.
The Reds, however, will be the favourites going in to the final. They have already won the League Cup this season and are aiming for a treble.
In the semi-finals Cliftonville overcame the cup holders, Glentoran Women, who are their closest rivals in the title race. The Reds won the game – it was a repeat of last year’s Electric Ireland Women’s Challenge Cup decider and was staged at Dixon Park in Ballyclare – by three goals to one.
And Lisburn Rangers Ladies edged past Derry City Women to reach their first Women’s Challenge Cup final. The last four game, played at Mill Meadow in Castledawson, ended 2-1 to the team from Lisburn.
Tickets to the final cost £6 for adults and £3 for juniors, exclusive of £1 booking charge. Group bookings of 10 or more will receive a 50 per cent discount.
