COUNTY Derry twins Chloe and Judith MacCombe secured highly creditable top 10 finishes in the PTVI Para Triathlon at the Paralympic Games in Paris.

Chloe came in 6th and Judith 8th in their event, encompassing cycling, swimming and running.

Chloe crossed the finish line with a time of 1:08.12 but was denied a fifth place finish as she received a 10-second penalty in transition 2 for placing equipment outside the box.

Her twin sister Judith was two places further back finishing in eighth place, with a time of 1:08.44.

The Claudy twins hugged their respective guides, Catherine Sands and Eimear Nicholls, after a gallant effort where they both made ground on the run.

The event was originally scheduled to take place on September 1, but was delayed by a day due to health concerns for athletes over water quality in the River Seine.
