Rachel Rogan and Chloe McCarron on target as Glens lift County Antrim Cup with Demi Vance named Player of the Match

Glentoran Women 2-1 Cliftonville Ladies

GLENTORAN Women’s extraordinary run of trophy successes continued with this County Antrim Cup Final win over holders Cliftonville at Blanchflower Stadium

A 30th minute header from Rachel Rogan (her 15th goal of the season) gave the Glens a deserved lead and NI regular Chloe McCarron doubled the lead when she fired home from inside the Reds box with 20 minutes to go.

Controversy surrounded the second goal of the night when Chloe McCarron’s effort was allowed to stand despite offside calls against the Glens’ Demi Vance, who was named Player of the Match.

Kirsty McGuinness pulled one back for Cliftonville in injury time but the Glens held out to win this trophy for the fourth time in the past five years.

This was Cliftonville Ladies first defeat of the domestic season.
