AHEAD of Sunday night’s potential title decider between league leaders Cliftonville and reigning champions Glentoran at Solitude (6.00pm), there were wins for Linfield, Crusaders and Lisburn Ladies in Friday’s penultimate round of games.
Linfield Women well and truly found their shooting boots to cruise to a 10-0 victory over Larne Women at Inver Park and secure third spot in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership.
The Blues needed just 45 seconds to take the lead through Northern Ireland international Keri Halliday, with Eve Reilly doubling up on five minutes after taking the ball round keeper Cerys Sharkey.
Mia Fitzsimmons’ cross beat the keeper on nine minutes to extend Linfield’s advantage, with Cora Chambers adding to it after collecting a well timed cross.
Zoe Knox continued the scoring with a 34th minute 25-yard rocket, before Reilly got her second of the night with a tap in from a Chambers cross.
Chambers doubled her own tally early in the second half, and the league’s leading scorer bagged her hat-trick goal just before the hour after getting on the end of Zoe McGlynn’s cross.
Rhianna Breen knocked home Linfield’s ninth on 72 minutes before turning provider for Eva Myles to wrap the scoring up 60 seconds later.
Crusaders Strikers came from behind to defeat Irish Cup finalists Lisburn Rangers 2-1 at Crewe Park.
Gracie Conway struck midway through the first half to hand Rangers the lead at the break, but Emily Reid found the net twice in the second half to secure the points for the Strikers.
And at the Bluebell Stadium, goals from Leah Wilgaus and Zoe Rodgers saw Lisburn Ladies get the better of Mid Ulster Ladies, winning 2-0.
Wilgaus broke the deadlock four minutes from half-time, with Rodgers making sure of the points on 83 minutes.
