Sion Swifts remain top of the NIWFA Championship table after defeating Bangor

SION Swifts Ladies made it nine games unbeaten as they defeated fellow NIWFA Championship title contenders Bangor FC Ladies at Clandeboye Road.

Lydia Clarke gave Bangor the lead after just six minutes after taking advantage of a mix-up in the Sion defence before Amanda Morton doubled their lead.

The away side were awarded a penalty on the 28th minute and then a second one just four minutes later and coolly slotted both home to level the game.

Sion completed the impressive comeback on the 39th minute when Hannah Gibson found the bottom right hand corner.

Gibson netted again before the break when she latched onto a loose ball and converted when left one-on-one.

Amber Dempster grabbed a goal back for Bangor after the break and they hit the bar in the closing minutes, but couldn’t find the leveller.
