There were plenty of goals spread across the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership on Friday evening.
Cliftonville Ladies and Derry City Women both recorded emphatic victories while Crusaders Strikers and Lisburn Rangers shared the spoils in a dramatic draw.
At the Bluebell Stadium, Louise McDaniel was the star of the show as Cliftonville Ladies swept Lisburn Ladies aside 7-0
McDaniel opened the scoring inside eight minutes before Danielle Maxwell doubled the lead by racing onto Lucy Kelly’s ball over the top and finishing confidently.
McDaniel struck again before the break and completed her hat-trick with a fine individual effort after the restart.
Caitlin McGuinness added two further goals before Kirsty McGuinness rounded off the scoring in stoppage time.
Derry City Women were equally impressive as they cruised to a crushing 7-0 victory over Larne Women in front of the DAZN cameras at the Brandywell.
Caoirse Doherty gave the hosts the lead with an excellent first touch before finishing from close range after Rachel McIntyre’s delivery and the pair combined again as McIntyre’s surging run from deep set up Doherty’s second.
McIntyre then claimed a brace of her own, first finishing calmly after racing onto a perfectly weighted through ball before converting at the back post from a well-worked corner.
Rihanna Ferris added a fifth early in the second half before turning provider twice for Cache Crumlish-Hawes to finish at the far post and complete the rout.
The night’s closest contest came at Seaview, where Lisburn Rangers twice fought back to earn a 2-2 draw against Crusaders Strikers.
Alison Nelson broke the deadlock after 70 minutes before Molly Loughran restored parity seven minutes later.
An unfortunate Abbie Smyth own goal appeared to have secured all three points for the home side, but Anastasija Stanyte struck in the 90th minute to rescue a deserved point for Lisburn Rangers.
