Sarah McFadden secures injury-time equaliser for Durham as Megan Bell scores first goal for Hearts

SARAH McFadden headed home deep into stoppage time as Durham Women twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at London City Lionesses at the weekend.

The Northern Ireland defenders goal, her second of the campaign, secured her team their first point in three games in the FA Women’s Championship.

Elsewhere, Megan Bell got her name on the scoresheet as she netted for the first time for Hearts during their 5-0 thrashing of Montrose, which moved Hearts into fourth spot in the SWPL table.

In the Women’s Super League in England, Simone Magill, who was making just her fifth start of the season, provided an assist for Aston Villa’s opening goal in their 2-1 victory away to Spurs.

Northern Ireland return to action on Friday when they clash with Montenegro in the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Nations League play-off.
