Premiership sides continue to expand squads ahead of new season

LAST year’s Premiership champions Glentoran have announced the signings of Sofie Keenan and Aimee Neal.

Keenan joins the east Belfast club from Linfield, with defender Neal joining from Sion Swifts.

Speaking after the announcement Neal stated; “Hopefully we can bring success and silverware within the club. I want to win the league, I’ve never won the league. It would be good to play Champions League football because I’ve never done that either so I’m excited.”

18-year-old Keenan added; “Last season Glentoran really showed why they are winners, they have winning in their DNA and that’s a mentality I want to be part of. When they opportunity came around to be here, it was always going to be a yes. You look at the squad it’s full of internationals and I want to be that one day.”

Linfield have announced that Naomi Donnan will return to the club after a spell at Sion Swifts.

“When I was here before the squad was very successful, winning four league titles in a row. I was also here from the age of ten and won the league at u17s and u19s. I want to come back and add some success again to the team and bring some experience.

“I’ve played under Ryan McConville before. He was really good with me and I have a good relationship with him so it’s good to be back.”
