ESTHER Dickson of Newry AC has raced to a magnificent victory in the Maurice Mullins 50K, held in the Wicklow mountains.
A big step up in distance proved to be no issue for Esther, a mum and a poultry farmer from County Armagh.
Known for her fast descending, she sped round the course in 5 hours and 13 minutes, finishing over 14 minutes clear of second place!
Esther now competes as a F35 but won the women’s race outright.
This could be an interesting start to her fast approaching 2025 Hill and Dale campaign… last year she was well off full fitness when the series began, but improved throughout and still managed to win overall in June.
This year it would seem that she will be starting in fine form come early April.
