BANGOR FC has appointed former Northern Ireland internationals Rory Hamill and Ashley Hutton as the new management team at Bangor FC Ladies.
Rory will take on the role of manager with Ashley as assistant manager.
Rory brings a wealth of experience from an outstanding career at both club and international level. Having represented Northern Ireland as a full international, he played for Bangor FC among other Irish League clubs and has since developed his coaching credentials within Bangor Swifts Women’s academy.
Ashley, also a former Northern Ireland international, brings extensive experience and understanding of the women’s game that will play a key role in the development of the squad.
Bangor FC Chairman Graham Bailie welcomed the appointments, saying: “We are delighted to welcome Rory and Ashley to Bangor FC Ladies. Rory’s pedigree as a former international player speaks for itself, and his vision for the team aligns perfectly with the club’s ambitions.
“Having Ashley alongside him, with her own international experience and commitment to the women’s game, strengthens the coaching team significantly. This is a major step forward for Bangor FC Ladies, and we are excited about the future.”
Speaking on his appointment, Rory Hamill said: “I’m really pleased to be joining Bangor FC Ladies as manager. The club has strong foundations and ambition, and I’m excited about the opportunity to help drive the team forward in the NIWFA Championship.
“Women’s football is growing at a significant pace, and I’m passionate about creating a positive, competitive environment where players can develop, enjoy their football, and perform at the highest level.
“Having Ashley alongside me is a real asset, and together we’re ready to hit the ground running.”
Ashley Hutton added: “I’m thrilled to be joining Bangor FC Ladies and to be working alongside Rory. The club has a clear vision for the women’s game, and it’s exciting to be part of that journey.
“I’m looking forward to supporting the players, helping them develop, and contributing to a positive and competitive environment.”
Rory replaces Chris Dougan who stepped down as manager at the end of last season.
Graham concluded: “The Board and I would also like to thank Chris Dougan for everything he did at Bangor Ladies and we wish him well in the future.”
The new management team will begin work with immediate effect as preparations continue for the upcoming season.
