THE Northern Ireland 200m record has fallen to Lauren Roy who eclipsed Amy Foster’s 24 year old best with a time of 23.27 seconds.

Lauren, from the same club as Amy (City of Lisburn AC), was competing at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Texas.  She has been studying and racing on a scholarship with Tarleton State University and has succeeded in taking her sprinting to a new level in the USA.

Lauren, a Mary Peters Trust supported athlete, also competed in the 100m and came close to another NI record (Amy Foster’s) when she ran a superb time of 11.44 seconds.

Also in the USA, twin sisters Roisin and Eilish Flanagan (Finn Valley AC) competed over 5K in Boston. Roisin finished 13th in 15:43 and Eilish 18th in a time of 16:10.
