NEWCASTLE United Women have announced their first signing of 2024, 20-year-old Northern Ireland goalkeeper Lilie Woods.

The talented stopper announced she was leaving Mid Ulster Ladies after 16 years earlier in the month and will now join the Magpies, who sit top of the FA Women’s National League North.

Woods, who made her senior debut for Northern Ireland in July against Czechia, will be available to make her first appearance when the Becky Langley’s side welcome Nottingham Forest Women on Sunday.

Speaking after the announcement the youngster stated; “I am very excited to be here and to be a part of this team. It feels great to sign for a club like Newcastle and I can’t wait to get started and help the team improve and win as many games as possible.”
