Rockmount and Malone progressed to the AIG All-Ireland Inter-club finals at Athlone on September 6-7.

Both were successful in the Ulster North and South Area Finals of the AIG Women’s Junior Cup at Rossmore.

In the Ulster South Area Final, Rockmount overcame Lurgan 5 – 0. Despite the match score seeming to be decisive the matches were very close until the latter stages.

In the Ulster North Area Final, Malone overcame Ballycastle by the somewhat flattering margin of 4½ – ½. Three of the matches looked to be going the way of Malone for much of the afternoon and this proved to be the case. They won the fourth match on the 19th hole with the other match called-in.
