Goals galore on the road amid big wins for league leaders Glentoran, Linfield, Cliftonville and Larne… Sports Direct Women’s Premiership Friday night round-up with pics

FRIDAY’S four Sports Direct Women’s Premiership games produced away wins for Glentoran Women, Cliftonville Ladies, Linfield Women and Larne Women.

Glentoran brought their shooting boots to Seaview as they swept to a crushing defeat of Crusaders Strikers.

Kascie Weir kicked the scoring off for the league leaders as early as the fifth minute, and doubled her tally for the evening just over a quarter-of-an-hour later.

Aimee Kerr hit a third just before the half-hour mark and then bagged her second of the game not too long after that.

Jenna McKearney then knocked home Glentoran’s fifth before the break while Nadene Caldwell decided to get in on the act ten minutes after the interval.

Kerr claimed the match ball with her hat-trick goal on 62 minutes, with substitute Rachel Rogan completing the scoring in the final few minutes.

Linfield hit six goals without reply past Lisburn Ladies at the Bluebell Stadium.

Cora Chambers edged the Blues in front midway through the first half before, just past the half-hour mark, Hannah Doherty doubled Linfield’s lead.

Doherty struck again, direct from a corner, moments from the break with Eve Reilly adding a fourth early in the second half.

Rebecca Bassett knocked home Linfield’s fifth later in the game before the scoring was completed in the closing moments.

A goal in each half helped Cliftonville secure victory over Lisburn Rangers at Crewe Park. The Reds led at the break when, on 33 minutes, Abbie Magee sent over an inswinging free-kick for Teegan Lynch to tap home from close range.

Then, midway through the second half, Carla Devine made sure of the points with a header from the edge of the six yard box from Marissa Callaghan’s perfectly delivered ball to the near post.

Larne picked up their first win of the campaign with a comprehensive defeat of Derry City Women at the Brandywell.

Sasha Clare edged the visitors in front on 20 minutes before, just a couple of minutes after that, Laura Dowey put the ball in her own net to double Larne’s advantage. Aimee-Lee Peachey added a third on 37 minutes as Daniel Carlisle’s side went in at the break in a commanding position.

They extended their lead early in the second half when Cate Toland turned home City’s second own goal of the evening and whilst Shannon Dunne did reduce the deficit just after the hour there was no way back for the Candystripes.
