NETBALL NI has announced the appointment of experienced Shaunagh Craig as assistant coach to the Northern Ireland Warriors international team.

Shaunagh will take up this position over the next six months following her commitments with the NI U21 World Youth Cup squad, where she currently holds a technical coaching role.

She will also remain in post as Head Coach of the U19 programme for the 2025–26 season.

Warriors head coach, Sheonah Forbes, shared her thoughts on the appointment, saying: “It is fantastic to have Shaunagh on board with us in the Warriors programme. With the experience and knowledge she has built over a number of years, I have no doubt she will make a great impact.

“With an important 18 months ahead for the Warriors, having different voices and perspectives in our coaching environment is vital to our success. I’m excited to see Shaunagh develop in this space.”

Shaunagh (32) has represented both Northern Ireland and England  at international level. She appeared for Northern Ireland at the 2019 Netball World Cup as a Belfast Ladies palyer. She also helped Hertforshire Mavericks and Team Bath win the Netball Superleague titles in 2011 and 2013 respectively.

Shaunagh was born in Bedford, England. Both of her parents were originally from Northern Ireland.

Sheonah also extended her gratitude to former assistant Debbie Bleakley, adding: “Thank you to Debbie, who has been brilliant in supporting my journey since I began this role. She will no doubt continue to thrive and lead in the coaching landscape across Netball NI.”
