WENDY Phillips is the new President of Athletics Northern Ireland.

Wendy is a familiar face on the NI athletics scene, the former athlete having competed at the 1978 Commonwealth Games, in pentathlon and high jump.

She went on to coach, a role she is still active in at City of Lisburn AC where she is also treasurer.

Wendy also managed the Mary Peters Track in Belfast for many years and in her coaching capacity she is still a regular at the facility, along with dog Molly and athlete daughter Anna.

She remains committed to the provision of proper indoor training and competition facilities in Northern Ireland.

Already active at many athletics events across Northern Ireland, Wendy will no doubt relish her new role as ANI President.
