ELLIE Andrew has been named as Ulster Hockey’s Young Umpire of the Year.
A qualified panel umpire and member of the Young Umpire Academy, Ellie has been umpiring for her club for the past two seasons and recently progressed to umpire panel matches.
As well as club hockey, she has continued to help out at the school level
The 18-year-old has also travelled to Dublin to take part in Hockey Ireland workshops and attend matches to observe more senior umpires to improve her skills.
Ellie was presented with her award by Ulster Hockey Development Officer Jonathan McMeekin.
