Danielle Maxwell lands back to back Sports Direct Women’s Premiership Player of the Year awards from NI Football Writers’ Association

Danielle receives her latest award from Football Writers chair Michael Clarke

NORTHERN Ireland international Danielle Maxwell has been named the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership Player of the Year by the NI Football Writers’ Association.

The 23-year-old, who also won the award last year, scored 11 goals in the treble trophy triumph that saw Cliftonville Ladies lift the VBet League Cup and Electric Ireland Women’s Irish Cup either side of completing an invincible Premiership campaign in which they won every single game en route to the title.

Having since left the Reds to join Burnley Women in the English National League North, Danielle said: “I’m absolutely delighted to win this award. I would like to thank the Football Writers for the honour. However, you can’t win an award on your own. You need help from your coaches and team-mates.

“To win the treble with Cliftonville and to finish the League season with a 100% record was incredible.”
