CLIFTONVILLE Ladies roared from behind to defeat Glentoran Women in this evening’s top-of-the-table showdown at Blanchflower Stadium.

With both teams boasting 100% records in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership so far this season, it was the hosts who got off to the best possible start when Chloe McCarron opened the scoring to hand the Glens an advantage they held until the interval.

The Reds wasted little time in turning things round early in the second period, however, with Caitlin McGuinness levelling before Marissa Callaghan struck to complete a quickfire comeback.

Both sides had further chances to add to the scoring but, just four days after lifting the Women’s League Cup at the same venue, it was Cliftonville who once again departed east Belfast with a celebratory spring in their step.
