Fi Morgan’s upward career trajectory has taken another sharp rise after her move from Cliftonville Ladies to Celtic Women was confirmed by the Scottish Giants.
The 22-year-old was only given her full senior international debut by Northern Ireland manager Michael McArdle in Turkey at the start of June and just six weeks later she has secured a dream move into full-time football.
Celtic wasted not time in throwing Morgan into action as she was in the squad for the Hoop’s pre-season friendly against Middlesbrough within hours of them announcing her signing.
Morgan rose through the youth system at Cliftonville before making her senior career with the club back in 2019. She was then part of the team that won the club’s first ever league title in 2022 ans was against prominent when they won a treble in 2024, when they went through the Women’s Premiership campaign with a 100 per cent record.
A major aerial threat at set pieces, Morgan scored three times in eight domestic appearances this season for Cliftonville before the club accepted Celtic’s offer for the player. She leaves the Reds on a high after helping them to a 4-0 win over Glentoran Women in the Women’s Premiership League Cup final, which turned out to be her final game for the Solitude side.
Morgan bridged a three-year gap since her first international appearance as a substitute in a friendly against Malta when she put in a player of the match performance in that 2-1 defeat against Turkey and was then included in the team that was beaten 2-1 by Switzerland a few days later.
