THE 2026 TG4 All-Ireland series gets underway over the coming weekend.
There’s Junior and Intermediate action pencilled in, as the All-Ireland U-20 competition continues.
On Saturday, All-Ireland U14 champions will be crowned in the Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze grades.
There are two live fixtures over the weekend, with the TG4 All-Ireland Junior Championship clash between Sligo and London on Saturday followed by Sunday’s Intermediate fixture between Westmeath and Monaghan. Both games will be available free to air on the LGFA’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
Saturday 30th May

All-Ireland U14 Gold Final – Kerry v Down, 2pm
In their respective semi-finals, Kerry overcame Sligo while Down advanced after defeating Monaghan.
Kerry were runners-up last year and will look to go one better against Down, who were Silver winners in 2023.

All-Ireland U14 Platinum Final – Armagh v Cork, 4pm
At the semi-final stage, Armagh came through against Meath and Cork secured victory over Galway.
Armagh were Bronze winners last year and will aim for a big step up against last year’s Platinum winners.

In their respective semi-finals, Antrim overcame Fermanagh while Cavan advanced after defeating Clare.
Antrim were winners of this competition two years ago, while Cavan were Silver runners-up last year.

Derry came through against Wexford in their semi-final and Donegal secured their final place with victory over Westmeath.
Derry have previously won Gold and Bronze competitions and will now aim for Silver glory. Donegal were finalists two years ago in this competition.

Sligo were semi-finalists last year and will aim for knock-out Championship football again.
The Westerners are in the four-team pool alongside Saturday’s visitors London, Carlow and Limerick.
Sligo will fancy their chances after narrowly missing out on promotion from Division 4 of the Lidl National League.

Group A:
Longford v Kilkenny, Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, 2pm
Group A contains five teams, including Longford and Kilkenny.
Offaly, Antrim and Derry are also in the mix, with the top two progressing to the semi-finals.
Longford will hope to bounce back quickly after losing out in the TG4 Leinster final against Carlow. The Midlanders were semi-finalists last year, losing out to Louth.

Last year’s runners-up Antrim will be keen to get back to Croke Park again.
The Saffrons begin their group stage campaign against Offaly, who will aim to bounce back at the first attempt after suffering relegation last year.
These are two teams that will fancy their chances of a long summer run.

Carlow didn’t make it past the group phase last year and will be keen to atone for that.
It’s already been a good year for them, with Lidl National League Division 4 silverware and promotion secured, before they landed the TG4 Leinster title.
It’s been a tough season to date for Limerick, who were relegated from Division 3. There was an encouraging victory over Kerry in the Munster Senior B competition, however.

Group 1

Cavan will start as one of the leading contenders for All-Ireland glory.
The Breffni ladies will be playing top flight Lidl NFL football next year and they recently captured Ulster Intermediate silverware.
They pit their wits against Roscommon, who were well beaten by Leitrim in the Connacht final.

Westmeath were semi-finalists last year – losing out to eventual winners Tyrone after extra-time in a thrilling encounter.
With Leinster silverware under their belts, Westmeath will back themselves to go on another long Championship run.
Monaghan will have taken encouragement from their Ulster Championship campaign. The Farney County reached the final and acquitted themselves well, taking Cavan to extra-time.

Clare warmed up for the All-Ireland series by claiming Munster Senior B glory.
Victory over Cork provided the Banner County with silverware and a huge boost ahead of the Intermediate All-Ireland series.
They begin their group campaign against Wexford, who lost out in the Leinster final to Westmeath.
The Model County finished six points adrift of the winners and showed enough to suggest that they could do well in the All-Ireland competition.

Champions two years ago, Leitrim will be aiming to land the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup once again.
The Connacht champions find themselves back in the Intermediate ranks after suffering relegation last year.
They begin their campaign against Wicklow, who lost out in the preliminary round of the Leinster championship.
Wicklow survived in the Intermediate grade last year after winning the relegation final and they’ll hope to avoid having to go down that road again.

Galway can boast a 100 per cent record after three rounds of fixtures.
Victories over Meath, Mayo and Cork have the Tribeswomen in a strong position at the head of affairs.
Dublin have three points on the board following a Round 1 victory over Mayo and a loss to Cork.

They make the trip to Cork, with the hosts chasing a second win of the campaign.
