Elks the only Ulster winners on day of mixed fortunes heading into the EY All Ireland hockey league winter break… all the results, scorers and standings

ROUND 11 of the EY Hockey League delivered a dramatic final weekend before the winter break, shaping the women’s table heading into the midway point of the season.

In the Women’s EYHL, league leaders Loreto closed out the first half of the campaign in dominant fashion with a strong home win over Portadown to maintain their unbeaten run and become clear at the top of the table.

At Belfield, UCD and Railway Union could not be separated, with Railway securing the bonus point after the shootout. Catholic Institute came from behind to defeat Pembroke Wanderers after a thrilling seven-goal contest, while Ulster Elks produced an impressive performance to defeat Queen’s University in Belfast.

At The Dub, Pegasus and Old Alex battled to a draw after a late equaliser, with Pegasus taking the bonus point.
