EMILY Wilson and Kascie Weir both bagged hat-tricks as Glentoran Women stormed to a crushing 8-1 defeat of Lisburn Rangers at the Blanchflower Stadium.
The win puts the Glens back on top, two points clear of their only realistic title rivals Cliftonville.
Wilson opened the scoring on 20 minutes with a stylish finish after receiving the ball from Nadene Caldwell before Weir grabbed her first of the afternoon just past the half-hour mark with a header from Jenna McKearney’s fantastic cross.
Wilson found the net for a second time from Faye Loughran’s pass on 41 minutes just ahead of Weir hitting her second after receiving the ball from the left.
There was still time left in the first half for Wilson to claim the first hat-trick of the afternoon when she finished with aplomb in stoppage time.
However, not to be outdone, Weir then knocked home her third early in the second half with Caldwell again providing the crucial ball.
Helen Parker pulled one back for the visitors around the hour, but substitute Mia Moore struck on 75 minutes to restore Glentoran’s six-goal cushion before she then registered for the second time in the closing minutes with a great finish into the bottom corner.
