QUEEN’S University were the only Ulster winners on day two of the weekend double-game action in the Women’s EYHL.
Queen’s defeated visitors Old Alex 5-1 with a double strike by Jenna McCarlie putting them on their way.
Newly promoted Portadown experienced a reality check, losing 5-1 to Railway Union while Catholic Institute got off the mark after holding Pegasus to a 1-1 draw, grabbing the drawing bonus point in the shootout.
Ulster Elks grabbed two points on the road, winning their shootout after drawing with Pembroke Wanderers. And Loreto scored two second half penalty corners to come from behind to beat UCD, maintaining their place at the top of the table.
