Six-goal Cliftonville close in on Blues and Glens in Sports Direct Women’s Premiership title race with victory over Lisburn Ladies while Crusaders leave Larne still bottom

TWO goal Naomi McLaughlin sent Cliftonville Ladies on their way to a 6-0 win over Lisburn Ladies on a high scoring night in the Sports Direct Women’s Premiership.

The Reds move to within three points of leaders Glentoran and level with second placed Linfield who hold a better goal difference.

Naomi struck in the 42nd and 50th minutes and, as the Reds moved up a gear, more goals flowed from Kirsty McGuinness 52′, Aoibhe O’Neill 56′ (pen), Katie Markey 66′ and Carla Devine 85′.

Larne remain anchored at the bottom after seeing Crusaders overturn a 2-0 early deficit at Inver Park.

It looked promising for Larne as Hollie Johnston and Sasha Clare had them two goals up after 16 minutes.

Michelle McDaid then began the Crues fightback on 24 minutes and they led 3-2 at the break with further goals from Alison McMaster 30′ and Emily Reid 34′.

Maja Stachura completed the scoring on 70 minutes.
