NORTH Down AC Olympian Rachel McCann has now been selected for the individual 400m at this week’s European Indoor Championships in The Netherlands.
This is in addition to the Bangor athlete’s previous confirmation, as we reported, as part of the Ireland women’s relay and the mixed relay teams at the Games.
This will likely mean a very busy few days indeed for Rachel at Apeldoorn.
Meanwhile, Northern Ireland’s Hannah Irwin, who is based on the mainland, has been selected to represent GB & NI at the Half Marathon event at the inaugural 2025 European Road Running Championships to be held on April 11-12 in Leuven, Belgium. The event will also incorporate a championship 10K and marathon and will combine the elite races with mass participation opportunities.
Hannah is the current NI record holder in the 10K and half marathon. Her HM Personal Best was set in 2024 and stands at 70.49. She represented NI at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
