Pegasus v Old Alex action
ON the rise Portadown delivered the statement win as the first weekend of EY All Ireland hockey league action of 2025 certainly didn’t disappoint, with plenty of shock results in Round 2 of the EYHL2!
One of those was Portadown’s 5-2 away win over Cork Harlequins with a brilliant hat-trick from Lara Wilson (pictured above) and two goals from Emily Adamson, (below)
Following their league debut draw at home to Muckross the previous weekend, Portadown now have seven points from two games and are level with the Dublin side at the top of the table.
In the top division, Pegasus and Old Alex shared the points, with the bonus point going Pegasus’ way in the shoot-out.
Railway Union scored right on the buzzer to draw level with Ulster Elks, and went on to grab the bonus point.
Loreto and UCD both managed vital victories for different reasons in close encounters with Ards and UCC respectively while Catholic Institute maintained their unbeaten record at home with a win over Pembroke.
In the Women’s EYHL2, Muckross secured a 4-0 win against Greenfields in Pool A. In Pool B, Queen’s stamped their mark on the pool with a win over Corinthian, and Ashton and University of Galway shared the
