Mia Doherty of Queen’s joins LGFA players from across the country for launch of the 2025 AIG Higher Education Committee (HEC) third-level competitions

THE LGFA and AIG Insurance have teamed up with Ladies Gaelic footballers from across the country to promote the LGFA’s upcoming Higher Education Committee (HEC) third-level competitions. 

In AIG’s eighth season supporting the LGFA, they will be the new title partner of the AIG O’Connor Cup along with the other HEC competitions.

Clare Walsh (University of Limerick and Waterford), Abigail Ring (University College Cork and Cork), Aisling Madden (University College Dublin and Galway) and Mia Doherty (Queen’s University Belfast and Kildare) have teamed up with AIG in this  promotion video https://youtu.be/uHTE2UnXg2E for the LFGA’s flagship third-level Colleges competition. 

The opening round of fixtures of the 2025 AIG O’Connor Cup are set to take place on February 6, with last year’s winners Dublin City University opening their campaign against Queen’s University, Belfast in Dublin. 

As well as its commitment with the LGFA to include HEC third-level competitions, the leading global insurance organisation will also continue to support players and members as the official insurance partner of the LGFA for the 2025 season.

Within the partnership, LGFA players and their families across the 32 counties can avail of exclusive insurance offers and benefits.
